Una preposición de lugar indica dónde está alguien o algo. Fíjate en la posición para elegir la palabra adecuada.
- In:
- Dentro de un espacio: The keys are in the drawer.
- On:
- Sobre una superficie y en contacto: The cup is on the table.
- Under y above:
- Under indica una posición inferior; above, superior.
- Between y next to:
- Between sitúa algo entre dos cosas; next to, al lado de una.

¿Dónde está? Las preposiciones de lugar
Las preposiciones de lugar relacionan un objeto con su posición. In describe un interior; on suele indicar contacto con una superficie. Compara las llaves dentro de un cajón con una taza sobre una mesa.
Otras palabras indican posiciones relativas. En The lamp is above the table, la lámpara está por encima de la mesa. The shoes are under the bed sitúa los zapatos debajo de la cama. The bike is next to the car coloca la bicicleta al lado del coche. Between sitúa algo entre dos objetos.
