Para preguntar, di What's the weather like? Para responder, usa it y un adjetivo: It's sunny, it's cold, it's windy.

Úsalos con el verbo to be: It was cloudy in the morning.

Di el número con degrees: It was 25 degrees yesterday afternoon.

Usa el pasado simple para los hechos (It rained all day) y el pasado continuo para la escena (It was snowing when we left the house). Con una estación usa in: in winter, in the summer.

Preguntas frecuentes

¿Cómo pregunto por el clima?

Di What's the weather like? o How's the weather? Responde con It's y un adjetivo: It's sunny. It's cold and windy. Para el pasado, di It was cloudy yesterday.

¿Por qué decimos it en It's raining?

It's raining, it's cold, it's snowing.

La palabra rain es un sustantivo: We didn't go out because of the rain («la lluvia»).

¿Qué diferencia hay entre It was raining y It rained?

It was raining describe el clima en un momento de una historia: It was raining when we left («estaba lloviendo cuando salimos»). It rained es un hecho completo: It rained all day yesterday («ayer llovió todo el día»). En una historia, usa it was raining para describir la escena.
