El transporte y los viajes en inglés
Puedes viajar by bus, by train, by plane, by ship o by bicycle. En inglés usamos by con el tipo de transporte y sin artículo: by bus, no by a bus. Para ir caminando decimos on foot.
Recuerda que luggage es incontable: a lot of luggage, two pieces of luggage.
Estas palabras aparecen mucho con el present perfect: Have you ever been on a plane? I have never been on a ship.
I caught the 8:15 train, but I missed the 9:15 bus. Subes con get on y bajas con get off en tu parada.
Preguntas frecuentes

Las dos son correctas, pero son distintas. Usa by con el tipo de transporte y sin artículo: I go to work by bus, by train, by plane. Usa on con a o the cuando hablas del lugar dentro del vehículo: I'm on the bus, I got on the train. Para ir caminando decimos on foot.
