What an A1 English test checks
A1 is the first level of English. At A1, you can say who you are and where you are from, talk about your family and your home, and describe your day. You can ask simple questions and understand short, slow answers. This test checks these things with short sentences.
The test covers the eleven A1 units of the course. In the course, the units come in this order. The first one is the verb to be and the pronouns I, you, he and she. Then come plural nouns, a, an and the, my, your and 's, this and these, have got, and there is and there are. Next are the present simple, questions with what, where and who, some and any, the present continuous, can and the imperative. The last unit is the past simple, with was and were. Some questions are about words: numbers, the time, food, the body and clothes.
Take the test at the end of the A1 units, or before you start them, to see what you know. If you pass, you know the basics of A1 English well. If you do not pass, your results show the units to study again. Remember that this is practice, not an exam: there is no certificate, and you can take the test again at any time.
